EZ Windows Transom

Transom On Windows

All transoms are 600mm High from the bottom of the window (aluminium) to the middle of the transom,
A transom is the horizontal divider found in some windows.

NOTE: Transom heights are approximate.

The reason the Transom heights are approximate is that each transom thickness is different on each product. eg. a sliding window transom is different to awning window and an awning or sliding window transom is different to fixed window.

Transoms Height Varies

Transoms also clip together with a top and bottom component and they vary in top & bottom sizes. In most cases this discrepancy is small but it does make the overall transom height approximate.

Another important factor is the glazing fin and the flyscreen. the will combine to add to the overall thickness of the transom.

Reason For Transoms

Transoms are normally placed on taller windows to strengthen and elevate the opening components so they are easily accessible off the floor.

Above the transom we would normally have the openings while under the transom is usually Fixed (non opening). Transoms aid in the overall strength and performance of the EZ Windows® Residential Series aluminium Awning, Fixed & Sliding windows.

  • Strengthens the core of the window.
  • Perfect for single or double glazing.
  • Transom default is 600mm (can be built to approximate  custom height).
